US-owned WOW air Cargo has announced the start of “worldwide cargo operations” from its US base in the capital region on the East Coast at Martinsburg, West Virginia.
The facility is 100,000 sq ft of hangar and warehouse with 25,000 sq ft of administrative offices for global dispatch operations.
On its website, the carrier says: “Our dedicated WOW freighters connect continents moving goods that drive global commerce.
“Fish, fruits and flowers from East Africa transitting Sicily reaching customers in Iceland, Russia and America bringing flavours and scents to wholesale and retail customers through out WOW world every day”
It adds: “WOW air Cargo supports eCommerce from any point on the globe.
“Bringing suppliers, agents, consigners and customers together in one simplified portal to book, consign, track and monitor deliveries from your desktop, tablet or smartphone utilizing next generation technology with an end to end fully integrated cargo platform management solution.”
In mid-March of this year, WOW air Cargo appointed Magnus Magnusson as its managing director of air Cargo.
On May 6 it announced that Dmitry Kaparulin was its country director Russia and CIS.
That airline said in a press release that Kaparulin “brings more than 22 years of global aviation experience to the group, having served in leadership roles for Alitalia, SAS, IATA, Air Astana and most recently AirBridgeCargo”.
WOW air is wholly owned subsidiary of USAerospace Partners, a US aerospace firm based in Washington, DC which acquired the WOW brand and assets in June 2019.
USAerospace Partners manages an aerospace portfolio ranging from interior completions, FAA 145 MRO operations, Ground and Cargo handling, VVIP aircraft leasing and commercial airline passenger and cargo operations.
