Logistics service provider Rhenus has acquired Irish chemical specialist C+G Logistics.
The acquisition, which was finalised in early February, sees C+G Logistics added to the Rhenus network.
Headquartered in Mulhuddart, Dublin, the chemical storage and transportation specialist has more than 40 years’ experience in handling raw materials, ingredients and chemicals, furthering the already established position of the Rhenus Group within the chemical market.
The acquisition enables further expansion of the services Rhenus can offer to its growing customer base across Ireland. The C+G facility also provides full Seveso capabilities with 5,000 square metres of dedicated hazardous goods storage.
The addition of C+G Logistics coupled with the recent rebrand of Avant Air & Sea (acquired by Rhenus in October 2018) to Rhenus Air & Ocean illustrates the company’s ability to embrace the continued growth and demand increase across Ireland’s logistics sector.
Declan Sinnott, Managing Director at Rhenus Logistics Ireland, added: “The acquisition of C+G Logistics is a milestone in the ongoing development of Rhenus in Ireland, and we’re delighted to expand the scope of services we can offer our clients, both existing and new.”
Patrick Wogan, General Manager of C+G, commented on the move: “Joining the Rhenus family is an important step for our business, opening up new service provisions for our client base. We are delighted to be starting 2020 with the support of a global organisation behind us.”
