Global traffic increased by 4% month-on-month in June. Surprisingly, the largest growth in flight volumes within Europe and CIS is being driven by Russian operators. S7 Airlines, Aeroflot and Rossiya have each seen a 30%, 27% and 12% increase in flight volumes respectively.

This equates to an additional 7,000 flights, making up 18% of all growth within the Europe & CIS region in June 2022.

Driven by the IBA NetZero carbon emissions calculator, the monthly Carbon Index highlights the best performing airlines, aircraft, and major lessors on a CO2 per-seat per-mile basis.

It also showcases the aviation industry’s efforts on the path to net zero emissions. IBA’s aviation Carbon Index is produced in partnership with KPMG.
