SWISS has operated a charter flight between Porto and Geneva in support of Geneva’s wine growing industry.

On behalf of Agri Genève, the SWISS A220-300 landed in Geneva on Monday with 141 workers as reinforcements to provide valuable assistance with the work in the vineyards due at this time of year.

Between June and July, three more flights are planned, this time as regular flights from Lisbon and Porto. Since April SWISS will then have operated a total of four scheduled flights and one charter flight, and will have carried 363 workers.

Lorenzo Stoll, SWISS’s Head of Western Switzerland, says: :This is the first charter flight SWISS has operated in support of Geneva’s wine-growers. In these exceptional times, it is essential for us to continue to connect Switzerland to the world within the bounds of our possibilities and to make our contribution to the local economy.”
