Bolloré Logistics organised a Cargolux B747-400F flight from Shanghai to Geneva with 92 tons of protective masks and medical equipment on board.
The consignment was destined for public establishments (hospitals and clinics) as well as healthcare professionals in French-speaking Switzerland.
The operation was conducted on behalf of a group of organisations bringing together the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce (SCCC) as well as the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIG).
The consignment comprised a total of 12,800 packages of medical equipment containing masks, gloves and protective visors as well as thermometers, with a total volume of 630 cu m.
A spokesperson for the French logistics company said: “The Bolloré Logistics teams in China and Switzerland worked in synergy ensuring end- to-end management of the supply chain from the production site to the point of delivery.
“At each stage, they coordinated so that all the logistical operations carried out are perfectly linked (collection of goods, packaging on pallets, loading and unloading, transport by trucks, etc) with temperature control and customs formalities being taking over.”
