Bolloré Logistics and Strasbourg Airport today announced the launch of a major real estate project: the construction of a logistics centre dedicated to the pharmaceutical industry on the Skyparc, Strasbourg Airport’s business park.
The 10,000 sq m, temperature-controlled warehouse, operated by Bolloré Logistics under its own name, will receive its first flows of pharmaceutical products in January 2022.
Its location close to airport facilities, freight operators, airlines, customs, and police forces, will help to streamline operations while providing excellent motorway connections.
It will consist of two temperature- controlled cells, at +2°/+8°C and +15°/+25°C, reserved for high-value-added storage and logistics operations including the processing of export flows by air.
Two pharmacists affiliated to Bolloré Logistics Solutions will also be present on site, responsible for ensuring that operations are processed in accordance with the public health code and good distribution practices.
Stated Brice Bellin, Healthcare & Life Science Director for Europe at Bolloré Logistics: “With this new logistics centre, the largest in our pharmaceutical network, Bolloré Logistics demonstrates its ambition to continue investing in Europe with the creation of new platforms built on this model.
“This infrastructure, which integrates into a secure and innovative environment, will also allow us to support our customers in the expansion of their activity related to the arrival of new products.”
Said Renaud Paubelle, CEO of Strasbourg Airport: “The health crisis leads us to rethink our economic model, particularly in terms of leveraging the available land in an efficient and sustainable way.
“The Bolloré Logistics project for a logistics centre dedicated to the pharmaceutical industry represents a new step that anchors Strasbourg Airport more than ever to the heart of regional economic development and current events, at this time when the health of all is everyone’s business.”
