Patrik Tschirch has been appointed as chair of the executive board of Frankfurt’s Air Cargo Community.
The new term of office for Frankfurt’s Air Cargo Community executive board will begin with two new members. Susanne Klingler-Werner and Dr. Pierre Dominique Prümm have been elected to the committee for the first time. Tschirch will replace Harald Gloy as Chair.
The members of the Air Cargo Community re-elected four of their six board members at a virtual general assembly at the end of November.
Klingler-Werner was elected to the board for the first time. She manages UPS Supply Chain Solutions in Germany and Austria, and is also responsible for Switzerland and Scandinavia. The appointment to office was confirmed for Tschirch, managing director of LUG aircargo handling.
Michael Hoppe, who is secretary general at Board of Airline Representatives in Germany (Barig) and who represents the position of the airlines on the Board, had his mandate renewed, as did Dr. Tobias Riege, managing director of Riege Software. He represents the other service providers.
Both founding members, Fraport and Lufthansa Cargo, each appointed one board member. Gloy, board member for operations at Lufthansa Cargo, will also continue in this role for the next term of office.
Dr. Prümm will be replacing his Fraport board colleague Michael Müller due to internal changes of responsibility. The role of the new executive board will be to move forward with the strategic process of the further development of Air Cargo Community, which has already begun.
Tschirch began his professional career as a forwarding agent and has many years of experience in the air cargo sector with various airlines.
In 2011, he took on responsibility for the sales division at the freight handler LUG in Frankfurt and has been leading the company as its Managing Director since 2013.
Said Air Cargo Community managing director Joachim von Winning: “Patrik O. Tschirch represents this location. He has an extensive network and since the very beginning has been part of the Board of Air Cargo Community.
“The fact that he has now agreed to take over its management is all the more testimony to his commitment to the air cargo forwarders in Frankfurt.”
Dr. Prümm will take on the role of deputy chair. He has worked in various management positions for Fraport since 2006 and since last year in his capacity as executive board member for aviation and infrastructure.
He has been in charge of flight operations and terminal management, corporate security and central infrastructure management.
Klingler-Werner represents the member group of freight forwarders in the executive board of Air Cargo Community.
She has worked for her employer for 15 years in various management roles. In 2017, she became managing director of UPS Supply Chain Solutions in Germany and Austria and she is also responsible for Switzerland and Scandinavia.
Klingler-Werner is taking over from Götz Wendenburg, station manager at DHL Global Forwarding, who did not stand for re- election.
Said von Winning: “I would like to offer my warmest thanks to Götz Wendenburg. His critical yet always constructive spirit helped the Community to make strong progress.
“I would also like to thank Michael Müller, who is also leaving the board. Fraport and the entire air cargo community in Frankfurt have very close links to one another. Michael Müller has been instrumental in discussions amongst all partners on the executive board.”
He added: “I am also very much looking forward to working with Susanne Klingler-Werner and Dr. Pierre Dominique Prümm. Their proven expertise will certainly offer valuable stimuli for our collaboration within the community.”
