Ancra International has delivered its tenth main deck cargo loading system for EFW-converted Airbus A330 aircraft.
Three systems are in service in A330-200 and this delivery makes the seventh system to be installed in an A330-300.
In 2013, EFW selected Ancra to provide the cargo loading system for their A330 conversions based on Ancra’s unique use of DC-brushless motor technology in their Power Drive Units.
Ancra’s PDUs allow for STOP-HOLD and STOP-HOLD-REVERSE capability using a single motor without losing engagement with the ULDs. Ancra’s PDUs provide dynamic-braking — even in the absence of power — which helps to prevent injury and damage from accidental “free” pallets, without the added weight and cost of supplemental braking rollers.
“The Ancra-powered CLS with advanced loading logic has become one of the main convincing arguments for the A330P2F family. I’m quite excited about the additional values it’s providing,” said Wolfgang Schmid, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for EFW.
“We are excited to see the A330 conversions starting to find their stride,” says Ancra Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Ed Dugic.
“After some minor software adjustments following entry into service, our customer feedback has been nothing but positive and our A330 CLS has proven itself to be a very reliable, low-maintenance product.”
